DENTAL INSURANCE

Regular dentist visits can be expensive, but they can do more than just keep you smiling – they can tell you about your overall health. Why not let a dental insurance plan take away some of the financial pain from your dentists visits.

Although everyone is entitled to treatment by an NHS dentist, finding one isn't easy; in some towns, there isn't a single dentist willing to take on new NHS patients.

Following Government changes in April 2006, over one and a half thousand dentists have left the NHS.  Finding an NHS dentist is now even more difficult, if not impossible, resulting in more people having to pay for treatment privately. Furthermore, 50% of all courses of NHS treatment now cost more.

Dental Plans as a Company & Employee Benefit

The 2011 Dental Benefits Survey reported dental plans as a tangible usable benefit. 58% of employees and 61% of companies (across all company size brackets) believing this to be the case. There also appears to be good scope for companies to provide dental plans as part of benefits packages – with 58% of employees who don’t currently have a dental plan stating they would appreciate access to it as part of their benefits portfolio, and 64% saying they would consider a dental plan if their employer offered it.

Key points:

71%✓✓ of employees agreed that dental was a tangible, usable employee benefit.

34%✓✓ of companies who are considering adding or removing benefits in 2010 are considering adding a dental plan.

69%✓✓ of employees would consider taking out a dental plan if their company offered it.

Both employees and companies see a dental plan as a key way of promoting loyalty and increasing employee retention.

Insurance plans cover general dental treatment, injuries and emergency work, plus serious oral diseases.  So, giving your employees a dental plan which provides regular financial help towards their dental bills can really put a smile on their faces, helping you to attract and retain quality staff.

Why is this important to you?  – Companies have the real potential to enhance the effectiveness of their benefits package with a dental plan, so it’s a low cost benefit that can really be appreciated by employees.
